movember?
As Movember winds down in the next week, I thought this post would be applicable to all the guys out there measuring how they did growing their stashes to raise money for prostate cancer.

| 0 commentsWe did it. We moved out of our respective houses into the condo in four hours flat thanks to our speedy movers.
I snapped some photos of the condo before the movers unloaded the goods. We spent the first day taking all our boxes apart, and tried to make sense of the space. Apparently I own a lot of cookbooks and serving platters (go figure) and my boyfriend has a lot of clothing.
Here is the condo, pre-furnished with some construction items left over (we still have some painting and finishing touches to complete).
| 1 commentIt’s moving day today. I am sitting around waiting for the moving company to arrive. Actually that’s a lie. I’ve been up since 7am packing miscellaneous items in boxes. Can you belive it that I forgot to pack my cookbooks?? Me… of all people. They now have their own box as of 7:30am and are ready to be put on the truck. It’s funny when you are going through the motions of moving out of your parent’s house, you think you have a lot of stuff when in reality you don’t own much! Most of my poessessions are books. I have five boxes of books. The rest is clothes and entertaining ware. I guess I travel lightly. Looking forward to starting from scratch at a new place.
Will post pictures later tonight if I have the energy.
| 0 commentsI keep my eyes open for new recipes all the time, however I am particularly fond of baking and baking recipes.
A sample of my new favourite food (baking blogs) and some attractive and enticing looking recipes can be found below. I can’t tell you how excited I am to get settled into my new apartment with my mix master and baking equipment and go wild over the holiday season. First thing is first though, learn how to use my new oven. That is the worst when you are accustomed to working with a specific oven and then you switch. Things come out dry, burnt or undercooked until you get the swing of the temperature. I actually feel a bit rusty being out of the kitchen for so long- maybe for a housewarming I’ll give one of the recipes below a shot.
Whoopie Pies from A Baked Creation:
Triple butterscotch cake from the Curvey Carrot
Marscapone brownies from Shared Sugar

| 0 commentsLess than one week away and I am still scrubbing glue off my bathroom shower tiles. I can’t wait to move into the new space. It is really coming together. This weekend there was a lot of touch up painting going on as well as encasing our kitchen cabinets in the high gloss grey boards we purchased from Ikea. Our counter top finally gets installed tomorrow (or so our manufacturer says). Lastly, my wall stickers and one of the posters I ordered arrived in the mail to my office. Can’t wait to get them both up on the walls. New photos coming soon.
Here are a couple great interior design pics that I like:
