little nicky coffee

A new, cute, independent coffee shop opened a couple weeks ago in the Queen West area (just behind the Gap to be exact) on Peter street off of Queen.  The best thing about Little Nicky Coffee Shop is that they make homemade doughnuts on premise and the smell is to die for.  They make lemonade and iced tea as well as coffee (which I didn’t try- as a non coffee drinker).  So go give that shop some love- it’s good to support the little guys on the street.

It’s Friday and i’m happy!  I have been so busy the past two weeks I feel like i’ve barely had a moment to think of colourful, creative, entertaining ideas.  Now that I have been rejuvinated by comforting thought of “weekend,” I’m back in posting mode.  First off, aedes studio out of Bulgaria.  I’m feeling their interior design and architecture.  This “design collective” offers clients an all-in-one service package from architecture, and interior design, to graphics and identity design.  This is one company I would work with from start to finish-

Guess Who Is Coming to Toronto?

Entertainers rejoice!  I was reading the CB2 blog a couple days ago and noticed a very exciting news- CB2 is opening their first store north of the border in Toronto, downtown in the old Big Bop.  I can’t wait.  I think it’s fantastic Toronto is slowly becoming the choice of expansion of creative home retailers from the US.  Now if only a couple European stores would look this way, the home decorators and consummate party throwers would be in business.  For now, I will start my unofficial count down for CB2.

Beijing Noodle No. 9

Cesars Palace in Las Vegas recently opened this attractive, fantasy looking, noodle shop called Beijing Noodle No. 9.  The restaurant has a pretty catchy name if you ask me but what’s more impressive is the interior design of the space artfully designed by the firm, design spirits co., ltd.  They used a silk like skin to cover the restaurant and project light through it giving off a fantasy, modern take on a traditional noodle shop.  For a more technical explanation behind the interior design click here.  I am not going to begin to attempt explaining something as cool looking as this.  Now the only question is, how are the noodles?

Yugoslavia Supermarket Concept Store

This is an interesting  piece of interior design for a concept store called Supermarket in Yugoslavia from Serbian based design studio reMiks.  The concept store event has a mani/pedi spot among its fashion, florals and other gadgets being sold.
